A lifestyle and fashion blog with a little bit of chic, a drop of glamour and a lot of love!
Glitz, glamour and goddesses, bras, bling and Bieber and so much more…. Ladies and Gentlemen fasten your seat belts, the sexiest night on television is finally here. Tonight at 10pm EST the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show which was taped on Nov.7th in NYC will air with 40 of the world’s top models strutting down the catwalk and performances by Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. It is the only time us laypeople will get to see Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Erin Heatherton, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Lily Aldridge and too many other gorgeous goddesses half naked together on one runway. It’s also a fun, relaxed, fashion show to watch. Unlike other fashion shows where the models aren’t allowed to smile, be sexy or show their true personality this one is the complete opposite. Sexiness is oozing out of every pore with smiles galore and attitude to boot.
The highlight of the show tonight will be Alessandra Ambrosio as she parades down the catwalk in the $2.5 million jeweled Floral Fantasy Bra, encrusted with amethysts, rubies, sapphires and a large center diamond.
One of the six segments of the show is “the calendar girls” which has 12 girls dressed (more like undressed) in a costume that was inspired by each month of the year. There was some controversy over Karlie Kloss’s November’s Native American racy get-up which included a headdress and a leather fringed bikini and caused an uproar from Native American women. Ironically November is also Native American Month which made the Native American Community even madder as they took this as more of an insult. Victoria’s Secret issued an apology three days after the show and promised not to include the outfit in any broadcast so we won’t be seeing that outfit tonight. Here’s a little peek for those of you who unlike me have not been searching the web for pictures of the controversial costume.
You would think that Victoria’s Secret would have learnt a lesson after it came under fire in September for its “Sexy Little Geisha” lingerie set which was later taken off its website and included a fan and chopsticks.
I guess it’s time for VS to hire some new politically correct designers although the publicity sure hasn’t hurt the company. As they say any publicity is good publicity and they seemed to have weathered these storms just fine. Regardless of the controversy, this is one of my favorite nights on tv and I can’t wait. Hope you enjoy the show!
